Briefly about Jeff...

Jeff McClellan is an award winning songwriter and acoustic performer who has lived his entire life in the Appalachian region of America. His roots are in the mountains where hard work, family, faith, and trust in your neighbor are not just a cliché, but indeed a way of life. Jeff draws from that way of life in his writing. Jeff has been writing songs since he learned his first chords on guitar as a child. Until recently, he simply wrote his songs, played them for friends and family occasionally, and hid them away in drawers and boxes.

"I write about life; especially life from the places I have called home, and the people I have been blessed to meet. " Jeff has found success in bluegrass and Americana music primarily. "I have had the opportunity to work with some really great people who have helped me get some songs heard by industry folks."

Jeff scored his first #1 song in the spring of 2018 when Terry Baucom's Dukes of Drive took RAINY DAY BLUES to the top of the Bluegrass Today charts. The song stayed on the charts for an amazing 18 weeks. Jeff's second #1 came in the summer of 2019 when his moonshine tale, 15th OF OCTOBER recorded by VOLUME FIVE, topped the charts. Jeff's third #1 came in the spring of 2021 with a tune called MODERN DAY JEZEBEL recorded by Jason Davis featuring Dan Tyminski. The fourth #1 for Jeff came in February 2024 when Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers took BLACK AND WHITE to the top of the charts.

Jeff has written or co-written songs recorded by Volume Five, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Terry Baucom's Dukes of Drive, Milan Miller, Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers, Crawford & Colt, Jesse Smathers, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle, Jason Davis (featuring Dan Tyminski), Nick Dumas,  Mike Bentley, Jeff Brown & Still Lonesome, Kristi Stanley, Mountain Bridge, Wound Tight, Justin Crider, Amber Collins & Branch House Pavilion, Terry Mullins, and others...

"Songwriting for me has always been about capturing a thought or emotion and trying to paint it in a way folks can relate to," offers Jeff,  "and it's always really cool to hear one of my songs on the radio. I can't imagine that any writer would ever get tired of that!"

Jeff was born in Tennessee, and raised in east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. He has been heavily influenced since childhood by small town life in rural America. He enjoys spending time outdoors with family, friends, and critters....
